We Bloom Despite: LIVING WITH OCD & BDD

FREE Community Event at Chalk Gallery

Wednesday, August 12th

6:00 PM to 8:00 PM

The event begins with a short breathwork practice led by Robin Marino of Centered Breath + Movement. Afterwards, Karp and guest panelists will lead an honest conversation including educating people about what OCD and BDD truly are, discussing ‍why "OCD is not an adjective," sharing lived experiences, and discussing how individuals can thrive despite these conditions. The panel will conclude with an interactive Q&A session–bring all your questions and curiosity!

‍ ‍To close the evening, community members of all ages can create a handmade note for themselves and Not Alone Notes, a non-profit organization co-founded by Molly Fishback, whose mission is to send handmade notes to those living with OCD and other related disorders providing hope and resources.

‍ ‍Meet the Guest Panelists:

‍ ‍●     Christina Ennabe, LCMHC (@christinacounsels): A licensed therapist, coach, and specialist in OCD licensed in NH, Maine and Florida. Drawing from over a decade of clinical expertise and her own lived experience, Ennabe will help us understand what OCD and BDD are and available resources. www.christinaennabe.com

About the Speaker

Nate Whitmer is a passionate native plant advocate and invasive plant removal specialist.  As a landscaper who wanted to do more than cut grass and blow leaves, Nate has spent the last two decades learning about the plants found across the Northeast and how they affect the intricate North American ecosystem. Nate shares his knowledge using an educational, engaging and energetic approach.  His presentation explains the threats from invasive plants, tips for identification and removal, and how to garden with native plants which support a healthy and vibrant ecosystem.

About Nate: He has been a landscaper for 25 years. Nate wanted to do more than just mow lawns; and worked hard to gain intimate knowledge on the subject, so that now he specializes in native habitat restoration and invasive plant removal. We’ll hear a little bit about the good, the bad, and the ugly in our yards and gardens; and the benefits of native planting to the flora and fauna around us…and us.

This is a free event, but due to limited space, please RSVP atchalkgalleryinfo@gmail.com
